The current Merchant is a man in is late twenties/early twenties, wearing John Lennon-style sunglasses, a goatee and a charming (if slightly unnerving) smile. During [[The Sorcerer's Story (Tobyverse)|the Sorcerer's]] youth, his mother was in charge of the caravan. The Caravan itself is fairly modern, with jeeps and guards armed with machine guns, but it keeps the spirit of years past. If you find the right info, you can go to one of the Caravan's many stops and, perhaps, buy your heart's desire.

The Merchant is no demon, although some say he serves one: he isn't interested in your soul or evil. He will trade things of value for things of similar value, whether it is ancient magical artifacts, information or more mundane goods. Some say the power of the Merchant's bloodline comes from the fact that they are the only one to know the path to the fabled city of Irem, of Many Pillars. The Merchant sure isn't telling.
