'''Got Next ''' 2 Minor Charges First, you're going to need a quarter. It needs to be clean, no patina, and have a state or territory on the obverse side. It also has to have been inside at least three coin operated game machines in the state depicted. These games must have been publicly accessible at the time the quarter was in them. If you approach a line of people waiting while carrying a charged quarter, you can walk to the front of the line and place the quarter on a visible surface and say "Liberty before..." and fill in whatever is depicted on the state side of the quarter. '''Effect''': As long as you avoid making eye contact with any waiting person from the time you approach the line until you put down the quarter, you take the spot at the head of the line. You still have to wait until the next person is called, you can't skip ahead of someone who is currently doing whatever is being waited for (you don't get to take someone's bank teller or push them out of their doctor appointment). While the people waiting don't need to literally be standing in a line, they do have to be present and in the vicinity, you can't jump to the front of an interview list or a customer service phone line queue. You will be treated as if you legitimately received your spot in line. Once you have finished doing whatever you were waiting for, you can pick up the coin to break the spell and let anyone who might have noticed your intrusion suddenly aware that, in fact, you weren't up next. If you don't retrieve the coin, the effect will last until you are completely out-of-sight, but you will have to secure another appropriate quarter. If the line you cut involves payments, that quarter is supposed to go towards paying whatever it is. If you walk out with it, the cashier will feel irrationally as though you have stolen something. Whether or not they cause a fuss is largely a matter of how much they care about such things.
