Beyond its light veneer as a place of entertainment Alamond is a place of permanence. Calamir & Paragon are ancient examples of experiments in Law that were created in direct contact with the Stuff of Chaos. They were created without much thought as to needing defenses from being destroyed. Consequently, they were destroyed. Amber was created with more planning with an eye toward some protection against the forces of Chaos and that lead to the creation of the Shadowlands. The Abyss was a great maw and tomb floating in boundless Chaos and when the Shadowlands rushed against it it became the vast dividing land and defensive wall for Amber. Alamond was created in the Shadowlands in order to use them as defenses even if Amber was destroyed. It was created with defensive barriers restricting the methods a traveler could enter. It was created with distinct magical defenses regarding is inscriptions. ==A Place of Entertainments and Pastimes== While the obvious initial impression is one of excitement, rides, events, carnivals, circuses, games, and sports it is beyond everything a functioning shadow system. People live, love, learn, age, reproduce, eat, and in time die. As such one of the most common pastimes is education. Not just in the main realm of Alamond, but in the shadowlands it holds sway over, is filled with many libraries, universities, and places of learning. Nearly any form of learning in shadow can be found represented in Alamond. ===The University of Alamond=== The University system of Alamond is the main school for the shadowrealms of Alamond. It has thousand of branches.
