Lyu the Transformed “I’ll fix it, just sit down and try not to break anything else. No, I don’t need a vacsuit, vacsuits are for pounders. Do I look like a pounder?” Cyborgs are a familiar sight to anyone who’s spent a lot of time in space stations and small airless rocks. They’re everywhere, doing maintenance, unloading cargo, tending hydroponic gardens. Cheaper than robots and they don’t go on strike. Yet it is said they had a mighty empire once. This is, in fact, true, and what’s more, they dream of a promised techno-messiah who will deliver them. Lyucrezia Powersmith was the youngest of a Cyborg family eking out a living on the museum tombworld of Sepulatra-IV repairing tourist’s possessions. Her coming of age ceremony was held illegally at night in the structure called the “Astrogator’s Tower”, and was interrupted by an enormous pulse of electromagnetic and ionizing radiation coming from deep within the planet which burned and deafened her. Within hours, a Science Police cruiser was overhead, enforcing a quarantine — but by then Lyu and her family were already offworld. When she woke up from fever dreams and nightmares, she was in a secret base of the Deus Machina cult in the Boneyard Orbit, hidden among a thousand dead ships. She is the culmination of centuries of furtive experiments, the Fulfilled Promise of Biomechanics and a living god to her followers. Also, her body is partially transformed into weird living metal, her hair is replaced by sinuous tool-tipped actuators, and her head comes off. She ran away, of course, but the cult didn’t mind. You can’t run from yourself. The cult is everywhere, and sooner or later she will accept her destiny and liberate her people Name: Lyu Powersmith, Filia Machina Look: Woman, Middle Eastern, Piercing Eyes, Metallic Flesh, Strange Costume Her appearance is Giger-esque, shifting patches of brown and metallic flesh, metallic tentacles questing blindly from her head like eels, and an outfit made of overlapping shiny metal scales that move dynamically as she moves. She's downright graceful in zero-G, but in gravity her added weight of metal and composites makes her move heavily. Abilities: Technopathy, Transmuting Flesh Her abilities with anything technological are in an uncomfortable space between "extremely clever" and "outright magical" and she almost seems able to talk to machines, diagnosing their problems and fixing them practically without effort. When she gets angry and uses this power for destructive purposes, it's terrifying, particularly when she's in a highly engineered environment like a starship or a floating city. Labels: Danger +1 Freak +3 Savior 0 Superior -1 Mundane 0 Moves: Not Human Enough Unstoppable Wish I Could Be Influence to one teammate, not sure who yet.
