Back to [[The_Throne_War:Main_Page|Main Page]] ==Ability Classes== Abilities are ranked according to class. The ranking goes: ''Mortal -> Heroic -> Olympian -> Numbered''. ===Mortal=== All the mortals in the multiverse are grouped into a single class. A character who is Mortal class in Ego, Might, Prowess or Fortitude possesses only the ability of an average mortal. If a ''player'' bids 0 points during an ability auction, he may choose to "buy down" that ability to Mortal class for an extra 25 points. ===Heroic=== This is the class of the mightiest heroes of earth. It is still considered a disadvantage compared to a divine being, but it represents the pinnacle of human ability. Pretty much if it can be reasonably assumed that a human has done it, Heroic class makes it routine. Abilities that have not been bid on can be "bought down" to Heroic for an extra 10 points. ===Olympian=== This is the class you get in all abilities without spending any points. While considered average among supernatural denizens, it is nevertheless impressive. A PC with Olympian class Might can lift cars and toss them a few feet, rip up trees from the ground, punch through almost any wooden object; they have the strength of half a dozen men. At Olympian class Ego, the mind is so powerful that one can form a psychic link through touch or prolonged eye-contact, and one's will is strong enough to learn and utilize the magic of the gods. An Olympian class Prowess makes one more skilled than any man who's ever lived on earth, able to fight with the level of a martial arts master simply by thinking about the best way to apply one's movements, able to make "impossible" shots with a gun or fight with a sword while engaging in acrobatic maneuvers, and generally defeat any ten men without even worrying about it. Finally, Olympian class Fortitude allows one to fight without stopping for twelve hours straight, be barely slowed down by any wound that does not directly hit the heart or brain--only decapitation can assure death, survive indefinitely in temperature extremes that would kill mortals, hold one's breath for half an hour, and, most importantly, fuel whatever powers one learns without being weakened. ===Numbered=== The Numbered classes refer to the classes won in the ability auction. In the end, the number of points spent doesn't matter, only the ranking. So, whoever spends the most points in the Ego auction, for instance, is ranked First Class out of his or her generation in that ability, greater, even, than many older gods. The points you bid, you spend; so whoever spent the second most on the Ego auction is then rated Second Class, and so on. Even Low-Numbered classes are superior to average Olympian classes. Those with High-Numbered classes are among the greatest in the multiverse at said ability, it may even be a defining aspect about their character.
