Topanga an Encampment in the Main Land Region *Barry Hansen-Mayor styled Grandpo Bah. Dr. Demento Topanga is a region of steep hilly valleys rich with water and plant life. Scrub oaks, Live Oaks, Pine, Redwood, and other thick vegetation. Vast numbers of fruit trees nestle in the region as well as wild vegetables and grains. ==Travel in Topanga== The Great Train Route skirts the edge of Topanga at a city called Crestview. From there local transportation can be used for travel inside Topanga. Animals and Carts can be rented by the day, month, or year. Several businesses offer custom Topanga-Ready vehicles for sale. For local use a tram service runs through the tight twisting area on road barely wide enough for trams to pass each other. Tiny vehicles similar to golf-carts are used by locals. Animals like horses, dottles, llama, ostriches, and goats are common. Wagons using wheels or levitation plates are hand pulled or animal pulled. Some are are automated. The region uses transporter technology extensively. Transporters are often point to point devices found at some point in each nestled community. Some, but by no means all, residences have transporter pads. Transfer gates go from Region to region The encampment is unusual since besides small theaters and performance venue it is mostly residential areas. There are many franchise restaurants and business areas nestled into the canyons in Clusters but they blend in well and are hardly noticeable unless you drive through them. Each of the business districts contain a fairly unusual number of small business like gift shops and art galleries. Many residents of Alamond call Topanga Hippielandia. Its a fair jest since many Hippie communes are sprinkled throughout Topanga's valleys and many commercial Clusters feature sales of hippie arts and crafts and include Hippie performance spaces and restaurants and cafes. ==Organizations== *The Eccentric Throng: Comprised of many members of Topanga. A social order. *The Rosy Order-Traveling Lodge 523. A masonic order based in Topanga. *The Walkafalldowns:This is a gathering of people who travel from restaurants and bars across Topanga. ==Festivals== Many of the commercial districts anchor artistic festivals. *The Sawdust Festival. https://sawdustartfestival.org/ *Walkafalldowns: This is not a formal group or fedstival but more like a recognized phenomenon. Someone declares a Walkafalldown and whoever shows up shows up. In a region reasonably obsessed with fitness the pubcrawl Walkafalldown is a community bounding event. Most people who declare one create some token that then becomes part of regional lore. Many "Falldowners" have personalized mugs or tankards that have tokens attached to them. Many restaurants or bars sponsor them. It is common for resteraunts and bars that learn they are in the path of a Walkafalldown create special tasting menus and small drink samplers since filling up in any one place defeats the p[urpose of the event. ==Residential Districts== Most residences are of highly distinctive natures reflecting the owner's tastes. The technology level is high but not always used. Topanga is at its heart a artistic encampment and the residences are indicative of the personal styles of the residents. A "Cluster" or residential grouping will often be anchored by a small commercial area in the crook of a road. These will have restaurants and markets but also small storefronts representing the interests of local residents. ==Known Businesses== *Inn of the Seventh Ray. Fine outdoor dining. https://www.innoftheseventhray.com/ * Hidden Treasures. Vintage clothes and oddities.
