Born in 2 CY, Kalrios was among the first of the elves born in Ashkar to those who had fled from Sarteri. At a young age, he exhibited great skill with magic, much to the chagrin of his parents; despite their disapproval, however, Kalrios excelled at his chosen craft, and was capable well beyond his years. In 88 CY, Kalrios was appointed as the Head Magister for the Empire of Ashk. He was the youngest elf ever to attain such a powerful and prestigious position in the history of the known world; the appointment gave Kalrios a great ego, though that ego would be smashed in 115 CY, when the human boy Kotrit Wayveri would far exceed Kalrios' skills in the realm of magic. Daunted by the sheer power the boy possessed, Kalrios - as with the other heads of state - fled to Shamok, where he and other national leaders attempted to find a solution to the threat that Kotrit posed. It was at this time that Tarian the Wanderer appeared, and Kalrios advised that they listen to the strange outsider. When Tarian called for a small number, each associated with a different Force, to accompany him in an attempt to vanquish Kotrit, Kalrios gladly volunteered himself. Together with eight others, they ventured to the Lost Isle, where Kotrit had holed up. There, Kalrios witnessed Tarian defeat Kotrit - yet another blow to the elf's ego, as he had believed that he would be capable of taking the boy down. After the war ended, Kalrios returned to the Empire, where he researched the so-called "epic" spells Kotrit had uncovered and used; in short order, Kalrios himself became capable of casting these spells, as well as researching his own. (To be continued...)
