For starters, he wields a giant, two handed warhammer covered in spikes.  However, he only uses this when truly pressed.  His primary ability is in the martial arts.  Most of his strikes have a slow, ponderous appearance that are in truth faster than they seem.  When combined with being extraordinarily strong, getting punched by him has been described like being hit by a boulder.  Coupled with a slightly above average intelligence, and he's actually developed some fairly effective tactics.  Hot weather and volcanic areas are of little issue to his kind, as they have grown to thrive in such conditions.  He also has some basic survival skills, letting him act as a tracker if need be and catch food for a group if something happens to the rations.
