==Background==
In the autumn of 1868 the Central Pacific Railroad was pushing through the Sierras when a blasting crew was violently killed. Their charred and mutilated remains were recovered, but no conclusions regarding what had killed them could be made. Over the following weeks several other crews working on the transcontinental railroad vanished. Confronted with mass desertion by workers, the railroad has contacted a number of hunters to track down this demon of the Sierras and bring it down. The company has done its best to keep the terror a secret so as not to risk undermining public confidence in the transcontinental railroad. The player characters will meet in Reno before proceeding into the mountains.

==Characters==
Players may elect to create a mortal character of any appropriate background to pursue the demon of the Sierras. Magical and psychic power merits may optionally be selected from ''Second Sight'' and appropriate period equipment from ''Armory''. Each character will begin with 150 experience.
