'''Appearance''' Medium height (around 5'6"), shoulder-length black hair, green eyes; fair, pale skin with a light touch of freckles. Rather on the thin side, but not excessively so, and at least somewhat in shape. Wears glasses, but is not completely helpless without them... at least at close range. Tends to have a rather sardonic, amused facial expression, though this is often just bravado. ---- '''Backstory''' Victoria Rosenthal was born to well-to-do Ashkenazi parents. Often absent and in any case emotionally distant, they tried to compensate for this by pampering their offspring, effectively trying to bribe her into obedience. Despite leading a charmed life, Vicka saw through their manipulations at a remarkably young age, and soon started to rebel against them in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. She had become very cynical and self-centered, to the effect that practically the only person she could trust and really get along with was her younger cousin Vera, an accomplice in many of her schemes. At the same time, she continued to do well in school and in the various extracurricular activity clubs that her parents had signed her up for, driven more by inherent competitiveness and pride than by any dream for a future. Having grown accustomed to seeing through lies and deception, she had no particular difficulty breaking free of the Dream - but found herself more lost than ever after that was done. ---- '''Personality''' It is worth restating that Vicka is supremely cynical; slow to trust and quick to mock, though this same personality trait has made her fairly good at seeing through lies and attempts at manipulation. She is also very egocentric, if maybe less so than she likes to claim. That is not the same thing as enlightened self-interest - being a convinced teenage nihilist, she doesn't look forward to much of anything as a matter of principle, and so could not be expected to, say, betray people for a material advantage (it is in any case even more meaningless than usual now). Instead, she basically lives one day at a time, and acts according to her momentary whims and grudges. What makes her a lot more active than she would be otherwise is a pronounced competitive streak, coupled with headstrongness cultivated over the years of squabbling with her parents. She also has a tendency to show off, something that might affect her piloting for the better or for the worse. ---- '''Relationships''' To do
