'''Pitch''' Revenant Magicians and scientists alike speculate on the many and varied forms of the undead (or the abvitae to use the scientific term), on their continued presence, persistence and origins. The oldest form of abvitum is the Revenant: a soul so wronged in life that it remains in the body after death, and gains supernatural powers by which to obtain its revenge. In a world filled with crime and treachery, the Revenant remains rare - few have the raw determination to overcome death itself. The goal of vengeance is a compulsion, driving what was once a rational being to brutal acts it perceives as justice. The Revenant is reborn with the goal of revenge upon its killer, but it does not let go of the emotions, attachments and beliefs it held in life. Some Revenants, though few, restored to consciousness, learn to forgive their victim, or otherwise let go of the compulsive need for revenge. The soul is then permitted to travel on to its next destination, whatever that may be. But when a Revenant's killer dies before the Revenant can know peace, the Revenant is trapped in earthly limbo, unable to pass on, and unable to find catharsis. These trapped Revenants wander until their sense of justice is satisfied, more often than not fixating and turning on other wrongdoers and leading them to a bloody end. Some though, resist the urge for wholesale murder. Where then, through these mean streets of grime and supercrime, does the path of vengeance lead? Find out in this year's smash mash-up of occult noir and superheroics: Revenant, coming from Tangency Comics. [[The Tobyverse Draft]] [[Tobyverse]]
