Editing We Rise or Fall:Aerdred Dannover

="Queen" Aerdred Dannover, "Mistress of Screams"=

Aerdred was a voidborn, the daughter of a renowned Imperial Navy Captain named Dannover. She was born while the ship was travelling through the warp, but unfortunately at the time of her birth, there was a geller field glitch and a minor warp incursion. this resulted in the child being even more warp-touched than the average voidborn. She grew up on the ship, but something about her made everyone uncomfortable. When she inevitably started to manifest psychic powers at a young age, her parents and other senior crew breathed a sigh of relief and packed her off to the Black Ship.

On the Black Ship, she demonstrated a high level of potential power, but she continued to make everyone around her uncomfortable. Subjected to the brutal torture of the testing regime, she remained sane by studying their techniques with fanatical interest and would frequently irritate them but suggesting improvements. When the time came for judgement, she was deemed too unstable for imperial service and was pegged for a terminal meeting with the Emperor.

However, she had come to the attention of one Inquisitor Ruthie Kellerung, who overruled the Black Ship decision and requisitioned Aerdred for herself as an acolyte. Kellerung saw the potential for good in Aerdred and believed in her where others didn't. For some years Aerdred served Kellerung well, even advancing to become an interrogator. Aerdred became an absolute master of interrogation, combining her psychic powers with the use of her mistress's excruciator to get the truth even from the most reticent of suspects. However, Kellerung started to express concern - Aerdred seemed to enjoy torturing others far more than was healthy.

Eventually, arguments began to happen and it was only a matter of time before there was a full-out confrontation. Aerdred ended up killing Kellerung during the dispute. Quickly realising that as the murderer of an inquisistor, her days were very numbered indeed, she grabbed Kellerung's excruciator and fled for enemy space.

She was welcomed with open arms by the forces of Chaos, and for the first time in her life, she felt accepted and understood. As a powerful psychic, she was of course courted by Tzeentch, but it was too Slaanesh that she eventually pledged herself to, sensing that the Prince of Excess appreciated her special 'talents' in making people scream. Shunning the lust aspect of many of Slaanesh's followers, she devoted herself to her sadism instead, and soon accumulated a small cult of pain-loving slaves bound to her will. Delighted to be the mistress of so many subservient subjects, she started calling herself 'Queen' Aerdred, and she started to announce that someday entire planets would be hers to rule over in brutal excess. Slaanesh was pleased.

Since then, she has accumulated some modest notoriety, and tales of the 'Mistress of Screams' have started to spread. But like any Slaaneshi, she wants more. So much more...

Tall, extremely pale with purple eyes and long straight white hair, she's beautiful in a highly disturbing kind of way. Like many Slaanesh followers, she's absolutely obsessed with her appearance and always dresses in the finest of gowns, robes and armours. Her signature item is a genuine Inquisition excruciator, which she absolutely treasures. Woe betide anyone who tries to take it away from her!
