The City Council meets several times a week to for the governance of Harbor City. Recently there was a special election to fill a vacancy, and the leading candidate Vincent Garibaldi was murdered right before the elections. The second most popular candidate Abraham "Honest Abe" Calderon dropped out of the race for religious reasons, conservative favorite James Watson was disgraced. This left the last candidate, highly eccentric Israel Tanaka as the winner. Tanaka is a conspiracy-theory-loving nutjob who happens to have developed the psychic power of precognition during the event several months ago.
The current mayor is Sondra Salinas.
