The reason he wants to continue to make himself better? Destroy the Fair Folk and put an end to their onslaught of shape-itude. If he hears anything about Fair Folk, he will likely set his mind immovably on destroying them.

Introduction[edit]

Duricorre, Exalt name Reverberations of the Scale's Imbalance, (DUR-ick-or) is by all virtues a monk. He has therefore been dedicated to discipline, meditation, and martial studies his entire life. Unfortunately before he was able to carve out an established life in his monastic community, the monks were attacked by the raksha Fair Folk, who used their techniques of Shaping to create a story to pass down to their descendants: we basically destroyed that monk place thing. Duricorre survived by virtue of his sheer obstinacy, but he was utterly enraged. He's dedicated the remainder of his life to the pursuit of two things: mastery of the martial arts and, more interestingly, technological alteration to his extremities in order to make himself better (he's pretty damn skilled at crafting BioMagitech). His main armament is a bionic arm, continuously modifiable and customizable. Don't worry about its ability to harm things. Okay? Okay.

The reason he wants to continue to make himself better? Destroy the Fair Folk and put an end to their onslaught of shape-itude. If he hears anything about Fair Folk, he will likely set his mind immovably on destroying them.

Intimacies
  • Feyth is rather undisciplined. He will be of little use once the inevitable battle with the Fair Folk happens.
  • There is no reason to believe the Fey are anything but mindless destroyers.
  • Arisa and her mount will make good comrades in my fight.
  • I have the power of information. I must be careful with whom I share this.

PUREE THE TITANS.

The Destruction[edit]

The Community was a place of learning, discipline, and brotherhood. Duricorre had always been a bit of an outcast growing up there. His stubbornness was always his undoing, but his mentor, Cosmus, had always been there to, shall we say, point him in the right direction. Duricorre always knew he was meant for something greater than the simple life of a monk. His most exhilarating moment was always his daily martial arts training. It was meant to improve his mind, body, and soul. But it wasn't a fast process. Little by little, Duricorre became one of the strongest young monks in The Community.

On that fateful day, Cosmus sat Duricorre down to discuss with him something very important. "Duricorre, I have noticed as of late that you are becoming restless with your meditations and training. To my brothers, you seem undisciplined and strange, but I know exactly that for which you are meant." Duricorre remained still. Cosmus had something in mind: his eyes wandered to a chest near the wall.

Just then, there was a vast crashing noise off in the distance. Duricorre and Cosmus both started, and quickly exited the building to see a wave of shaping energy traveling toward them. It was being used to completely reconstruct The Community and its surrounding terrain into something more suitable for exciting stories: a Fair Folk stronghold. However, to make a long story short, the meditative energy surrounding The Community prevented its construction and The Community and most of its inhabitants were reduced to rubble and ash. The only one that remained was Duricorre, however he was badly maimed: the wave of shaping had gone straight through his chest and destroyed his heart. He had seconds to survive. As he attempted to drag himself upright, he noticed a glint of green a few yards away. It was coming from where the chest was sitting that Cosmus had shown so much interest in. Duricorre's eyes readjusted and noticed something. It was in the shape of a heart. Without any second thought he reached out, thrust it into his chest cavity, and immediately felt a surge of power through his entire body. He was now in possession of the Green Iron Heart, and an Exalt.

Connection to the Circle[edit]

Duricorre met Ebon Hand of the Dragon when she caused a bar brawl. He was calmly drinking tea when he noticed that a bunch of violent ragamuffins seemed to be scrabbling around him. He quickly put an end to this by using his clockwork armament. Ebon was impressed. Since Duricorre has a high Temperance, he did not immediately throw the idea aside when Ebon, in her infinitely spur-of-the-moment wisdom, proposed to him that he should perform the duties of a bodyguard for her. Duricorre was so annoyed by the scrabble that his response was mere apathy. Sensing acceptance, Ebon gave a little squeal and they were on their way.
