It's not a loophole.  It's intentional.  Whether XP is spent or not, it modifies the power of a character.  A character with 320+60XP points is potentially as powerful as a character with 380 points.  However - I do think unspent XP should then be spent on the new character.  A new character should not start with unspent XP --[[User:Curufea|Curufea]] 17:33, 16 January 2006 (PST)

After the email discussion, I thought that the decision was that new characters come in as (current points of dead character) - 30 points (or so). Is that including unspent XP?

In other words, If I build up 60 unspent XP, with a point total of say 320, and then die, does my new character get 290 points + 60 unspent XP? This seems to be a strange loophole.
