The Hopewell Foundation is looking for a compassionate and discreet candidate to serve as its staff psychologist. The psychologist will be responsible for the mental health of the Foundation staff as well as any Survivors in the Washington area that seek the Foundation's care. While maintaining doctor/patient confidentiality, the psychologist will report the the Director of Survivor Advocacy and Support on the ability of Foundation staff to continue with their jobs. The psychologist must have an MD in psychology and have specialized in trauma care, with a minimum seven years of professional practice. The ideal cantidate will have experience helping patients articulate their exposure to unique situations; examples include work with NASA astronauts, police or military personel or deep-sea explorers. While maintaining doctor/patient confidentiality, he will report to the Director of Programs on the mental and emotional ability of consultants to continue their work. Staff Psychologist
The Staff Psychologist is primarily responsible for the mental health any Survivors who are consultants for/clients of the Foundation in the Washington, D.C. area (or within easy travel distance thereof. He will schedule regular sessions with those most in need of his care and provide periodic evaluations to willing others. While maintaining doctor/patient confidentiality, he will report to the Director of Programs on the mental and emotional ability of consultants to continue their work. The Staff Psychologist is also responsible for the mental help of the office staff generally, particularly as it concerns adjusting to the strangeness of working in close proximity of people with the Survivors' unique abilities.
