Biography

Origins

• Born in Hong Kong in 2154, shortly after his mother was exposed to dust-form eezo after an accident at the spaceport.
• Afro-Asian, of mixed Ghanaian, Chinese and Scottish heritage. Fluent in English and Cantonese, speaks some Akan.
• The eezo exposure that primed his biotic ability gave his mother lymphoma; she survived but the cost of her care crippled his family financially.
• Ran with a bad crowd in the Yaumatei, frequently in trouble with the law and involved in petty crime.
• At 14 was accepted into a Conatix Industries outreach programme, searching for latent biotics from deprived backgrounds, received an L2 implant.
• His implant proved unstable, and he was a poor fit for their programme; he washed out a few months later.
• The death of a friend and another brush with the law was a wake-up call; a cop who was an Alliance veteran pointed him in the direction of some of his contacts.
• The day after his 18th birthday in 2172 he enlisted, giving the hefty bounty offered to biotics to his parents.

Military History

• After boot camp, wanted to get on the biotic programme, but couldn't with his unstable implant. Took the risk of brain surgery to get an L3-R implant and survived the procedure.
• Received Vanguard training with a focus in advanced close quarters combat.
• Assigned to the 3rd Frontier Division in 2173, promoted to Corporal in 2174.
• Was on leave on Elysium during the Skyllian Blitz in 2176; for his actions received a citation and was promoted to Service Chief.
• Took part in the Theshaca Raids in 2178 against pirates in the Traverse, for his part in groundside actions, received another citation.
• Was promoted to Gunnery Chief later in 2178.
