The first person a newcomer is likely to meet is a bitter, cynical man by the name of Cale Lynch. He operates a garage on the edge of town, where he keeps Covenant's cars, trucks, and farm machinery up and running. Even if automotive trouble isn't what brings you to town, he's the first living soul to be found on the long, long road from civilization.

Cale doesn't buy Alexander Dougal's claims of divinity. He does, however, believe that the world ended in fire twenty years before he was born. Claims to the contrary will lead Caleb to believe that newcomers are either 1) insane, or 2) up to something. Thus, he's as much a potential enemy as a potential ally.
