'''Triad Tattoos:''' Viewed under normal lighting, Kiko does not seem to have any tattoos, but under a unique combination of infrared and ultraviolet she can been seen to be sporting the full back, chest, and sleeves of a triad captain in subspectral ink, as well as a captain's insignia on each of her cheeks.

Tattoos: She has simple Independent Captain's bars tattooed to her cheek under her right eye in honor of her fallen father and a single Lieutenant's bar tattoeed to her cheek under her left eye in honor of her fallen mother.

The only daughter of the young matriarch of the Han triad family, Kiko enjoyed a protected - if not particularly sheltered - childhood. Exposed both peripherally and directly to the inner workings of a criminal empire, she grew up fast, but the more her mother tried to push her to take on position and responsibility, the more she rebelled and sought to strike out on her own, and when she came into her majority, Kiko declared herself emancipated and walked away from it all.

For a time, Kiko drifted aimless in the aftermath of her epic flounce, hopping from planet to planet and station to station, sometimes working, sometimes borrowing, sometimes stealing; until eventually she hit on the discovery that folk who didn't know her tended naturally to underestimate her. And in discovering that, she discovered she had a talent for the con. Now, Kiko spends no small amount of time going by the moniker 'Stick' and hustling pool throughout the black.
+
Her father was a captain in the browncoat militia, and her mother was independent intelligence, and though they both managed to get themselves killed, they made an impression on a lot of soldiers before they did.

When she can manage to pass unnoticed, that is.
+
Those soldiers have been dropping in on Kiko in groups and pairs and individually since the end of the war, making sure she has what she needs. Making sure she learns the important things. Like when to fold, when to double down, how to drink without puking, how to puke on cue, and how to shoot.

Despite publicly separating herself from her birthright, Kiko is still widely thought of throughout the triad as the Han faction's heir apparent, and though she vehemently denies any involvement in triad business. she has been known to make free use of triad resources if it suits her needs to do so, and that has proven a dangerous line to keep crossing.
+
Sort of.

Her mother's enemies know what she is worth in leverage against the matriarch. Soon enough one of them is bound to try to gain that leverage if she doesn't find a solid ally outside the triads.

So, though he was never allowed a place in her childhood, Kiko tracked down her father, a quiet battle-scarred veteran and core educated doctor. Somehow, perhaps because of the war, he managed to avoid entanglements with her mother and the triads. He claims to owe his freedom to the influence of a high ranking Alliance secret agent, but she is sure he made that bit up. For her part, she does not speak openly of the triads, and for his part he seems to quietly understand her silence and does not ask.

He has given her the name of a ship and a sealed holocube to play for his former captain should she ever need passage.

Not ever, really.

Her father was a captain in the browncoat militia, and her mother was independent intelligence, and though they both managed to get themselves killed, they made an impression on a lot of soldiers before they did.

Those soldiers have been dropping in on Kiko in groups and pairs and individually since the end of the war, making sure she has what she needs. Making sure she learns the important things. Like when to fold, when to double down, how to drink without puking, how to puke on cue, and how to shoot.

Sort of.

Sometimes.

Not ever, really.

For all their efforts, Kiko is just a crap shot.

She has enjoyed their sporadic presence in her life, though, her band of helpful misfits. They've shown her that her parents mattered - that they made a difference in a lot of lives - and she's picked up a useful skill or three through association along the way.

Not being the overly ambitious type, Kiko mostly makes her way in the verse hustling pool. Those who know her, call her 'Stick,' not so much for her skill at billiards as her willingness to introduce a head to the end of her cue for coming at her wrong. It's her life. She enjoys it.

Sort of.

Sometimes.

When things go smooth.

But it's been a long gorramn while since things went smooth.
