Guard
Guards do not have to be fully trained warriors. A guard only needs to know how to use one kind of weapon, and might rely on strength or equipment more than training.
Barbarian
Barbarian is a catch-all term for warriors from nomadic and uncivilized cultures. Barbarians are usually masters of all basic weapons, but a barbarian also knows how to survive in the wild, hunting and creating his own tools as needed. Barbarians value cunning and stealth and often have abilities similar to rogues.
Cavalry
Knights, samurai and other warriors who know how to fight on the back of a horse (or the back of a giant wolf, gryphon, dragon or other creature) are enormously effective in medieval combat. Mounted warriors often have a higher social status than foot-soldiers, who are sometimes just armed peasants.
