Norton Harbor
When Harbor City incorporated in 1895 they decided to name the harbor after Joshua Abraham Norton, the self proclaimed Emperor of California. It started out as a joke, but so many of the citizens liked the idea, it has been known as Norton Harbor ever since.
Out in the harbor are several islands, some of which are put to various uses.
