Once a private detective, Velloq was no stranger to death. He and it became even more acquainted after a run-in and an incident of bad luck ended with him being tossed from Perch. And that was the end of One-Eyed Velloq, at least as far as the City Above is concerned. Waking up, deep beneath Spire and drowning in the Grey, Velloq only lives thanks to the intervention of dangerous and cthonic forces (I haven't decided who yet).
• Who, or what, are your masters?
The Discarded, lost and forgotten gods of old rope and rusted blades
• What do your masters want?
Individually? To be used. In their current state, each individual god is week and without much thought or will, little more than
packets of need. However, as a gestalt entity, the Discarded have developed a sort of alien cunning. They want to graduate from
being godlings, barely considered or thought of, and graduate to the level of the other greater deities: Azure, the Moon
Beneath, etc.
• How are your masters maintaining power over you?
When they caught Velloq as he fell from the Spire, the Discarded bound his soul in ghostly ropes. They make their will known
through jarring and painful tugs and pulls of this leash. If truly displeased, Velloq's masters can pull his limbs
like a marionette.
• How do your masters contact you?
Messages etched onto shards of rusted metal or burned into tatters of fabric, delivered by furtive looking people with ghostly ropes
only he can see tied around their necks.
