| Another decision facing the group is that of the nature of the
| | |
| Needs and Wants of the The Batman. These are best decided in
| |
| conjunction with considering the The Batman’s Type and Aspect,
| |
| but in short, Needs are understood to be what the The Batman
| |
| would have from the Townspeople. And Needs are
| |
| something that necessarily threaten the Townspeople in
| |
| some way...even if only by representing new ideas.
| |
| It is the role of the minions to pursue these Needs on behalf
| |
| of the The Batman, a role which positions the minion both
| |
| situationally and thematically between the Townspeople
| |
| and the The Batman.
| |
| Needs also inform the roles the minions will play in the
| |
| The Batman’s household. A The Batman who Needs human tissue
| |
| samples for his work on the creation of artificial life might,
| |
| for instance, have a minion who is a trusted homunculus.
| |
| Perhaps he has a coachman and bodyguard for when he does
| |
| field work. Or a lab assistant.
| |
| And whereas Needs directly trigger instability in the society
| |
| of the Townspeople, Wants are what the The Batman would have
| |
| from the Outsiders.
