Background

With her crossed eye, it was always going to be difficult for Raghild's parents to wed her off. At the advanced age of 23, an old shepherd Kotkell brought a meagre dowry down off the hills. Her father was delighted, and Raghild finally won a toothless and foul-smelling husband of her very own.

Kotkell didn't survive that winter. He was found by his brother, frozen solid on the slopes. With Kotkell's wandering eye, rumours started, of course, and Raghild eventually fled. Half-starved in Dragonscar, she learned how to scrape a living off the leavings of society.

Raghild had something of a talent for stealing pies off window lintels and this got her noticed. A gang of ruffians put her to good use and together they pulled off a pretty profitable job. The gang dispersed but Raghild had learned to like the feel of gold on her fingers. She craves more.
