The Strength bonus is added to all checks involving brute strength, such as moving heavy objects. It is also added to rolled damage for melee weapons.
Strength determines the number of items a character can carry, and how fast they move. The base movement of any character is set by the armor they wear. So long as the character carries Str/2 or less, the character can move at base movement. If the character carries Str or less, the character moves at base movement minus 3". If the character carries more than that, up to a total number of items equal to their strength, they move at base movement minus 6".
