Perception
Perception (Per) is used in Trinity because of the existence of firearms. If firearms were based upon Dexterity, they would rapidly become unbalanced. To counter that, the Perception ability score was created.
Perception is Used for...
- Attack rolls with firearms (and firearms only - other ranged weapons are still Dexterity-based).
- Low-light vision. Add the character's Perception modifier to its multiplier for how far she sees in low-light conditions.
- Darkvision. Multiply the character's Perception modifier by 10 and add the result to the character's darkvision distance.
- Listen, Search, and Spot. These three skills are based on Perception, rather than Intelligence or Wisdom.
