Maps

Areas ringed in yellow are mostly farmlands, ruled by independent kings, princes, nobles, and primates. Cities control the farmlands within two leagues of their walls. Areas not ringed in yellow within the borders of Llaigis, including river commerce are, according to law and custom, the peoples' lands ("people" meaning nobility), which are protected by the king. At this time, the king's protection outside of Gathis means little.

The Gyre

The stars gutter and the skies fade and the earth grows weary with years. Ages of men and of Outsiders have matured and faded to naught, been forgotten, conquered by the unnumbered legions of days and years marching through the mists. Only the bones of their cities and the dust of their dreams remain upon this tired world. The Legacy of their laws is woven deep now, the edicts of dead gods and fallen sorcerer-kings made to trace patterns of power we no longer understand. If only we can remember who we are…heirs to their unseen empires.

Rumors and Leads

Lore

  • Llaigis: Nov Lands: The titled ruler of the Nov lands, Prince Jaeydn, is young and weak. Like the King of Llaigis in miniature, the prince is helpless to halt internal power struggles. A dozen hamlets and villages have engaged in a years-long feud of neighboring clans over grudges from decades past. When the mood strikes them, bands of armed men of the Urdok Clan gallop through the villages of the Naheli Clan, killing as they go. The next week or month, warriors of the Naheli Clan band together and visit murderous reprisals upon the Urdoks. It is a never-ending cycle of violence.
  • Llaigis: Usuldarum River between Acitor and Thuvad: Hunting grouds for ducks and Geese, antelope, and the occasional bison. Heavy river commerce. For centuries, the river has been under the king’s protection. The king's power has faded in recent years until several months ago, House Zernunol, under the Baroness-Autocra Ydress, claimed the Riverlands adjoining hers, levying a tariff on river traffic and banning hunters, not of-house. Two dozen hunters requested a hearing with the Baroness-Autocra to argue the point. The Baroness-Autocra’s soldiers massacred the petitioners under the olive branch, as it were.
