A game of surviving in the harsh world of space capitalism

The players were a science team, scientists, their support android and marine guards for Rasmussen WorldSurvey a spin-off from the Rasmussen Technical University a small planetary university desperate to gain commercial funding. Your first contract was on a lush jungle world that had thick, rotting mats of vegetation on top of what proved to be large bubbles of a highly acidic biotoxin mixed with a huge volume of carbon-dioxide gas. Your team returned from a tour of the sensor ring to find the camp full of bleached corpses streaked with blue blood and a large steaming crater where the expensive equipment used to be. Your debt and contracts were bought from the horrifically bankrupt Rasmussen WorldSurvey at a 1 to 1k ratio by Massamor Mining. They generously leased you a ship and have provided you with a contract to start repaying your debt to them.

BACKGROUND: Raised on old scifi shows and movies, as well as books, Chico dreamed of the stars as adventurous places full of wonder and mystery. Not particularly physical, but reasonably bright, Chico decided science would be his gateway to space. Soon after graduating from college, he signed up with one of the corps that provided colonial support. That's when he found out life among the starts was actually full of drudgery and exploitation.

It's been 10 years and Chico has had some close calls. He wants to retire to some paradise world. But where would that be? Does this place even exist?

NOTES: Camélia Camden, professor of exobotany at the Department of Planetary Sciences. Chico and Cammy joined RTE's faculty at the same time and became fast friends over their love of old music. She also lost friends in the team's tragic last mission for the university, and was dismayed when she learned Chico and the others were now working for Massmor (is this a pun with "mass death"?).
