Welcome! I wish to put a family portrait of sorts together for this spot.

Character Files/Meta Currencies[edit]

I will update the Character Table on the wiki each time I update the IC thread. Please do not update the table yourselves. I don't want anyone losing Plot Points or Big Damned Hero Dice from double subtraction.

If you feel I have forgotten to update the table or that my math is wrong, let me know OOC or DM me and I will fix it. Likewise, if I make a mistake on the Character/GM Complications/Assets lists, let me know and I'll fix it. These also get updated when I update the IC thread.

Advancement and Milestones[edit]

Fursona Dreamshoppe features milestone advancements. Each PC will have a personal goal called a milestone they are working towards. Generally this will be supporting or sabotaging another character, improving your dreamshoppe, or hosting an event. There will also be an Episode Milestone to work towards. A milestone goal comes in three parts: introduction, some tangible action, and conclusion.

Example Episode Milestone set up

1 Investigate situation
3 Debate clues and take course of action
10 Solve or fail to solve the issue.

Personal goals may work best in a sort of round robin where one PC is working towards their next event, another hosting, while yet another may be improving their Dreamshoppe, assisting a friend, or undermining a rival. The tug and pull from each individuals goals and the goings on of the town will be a source for drama beyond the GMs planned events.

Example Personal Milestone set up

1 Attend event with intent to talk with, assist, or undermine someone.
3 Confront someone or help them or otherwise spend some time doing the thing.
10 Eventually a goal has an outcome, pass or fail you keep the xp.

Advancement XP Cost[edit]

  • 5xp
    • Step a relationship to d6 or d8 (once per session, must challenge)
    • Add d6 or step a shop asset to d8
    • With Milestone completion step 1 shop attribute, up to d8 max.

  • 10xp
    • With Milestone completion step 1 shop attribute, d8 to d10, or d10 to d12.
    • Add d6 specialty/asset or step to d8
    • Add sfx to asset
    • Step shop asset to d10 or step d10 to d12
    • With Milestone completion step relationship to d10 or step d10 to d12
  • 15xp
    • Step distinction d8 to d10 or d10 to d12
    • Add 1 power point

Character Generation[edit]

Start with these 3 Distinctions, highlight 2 Values for each distinction below:

Life Before-You woke up different, but the person you were is still here. I like using Personality/Quirk + Job (ex Polite Baker, Clever Lawyer); Life Before comes with a d8 specialty related to this life.

Dreamshoppe Role-Use a combination like Life Before and we'll build that Dreamshoppe below. Dreamshoppe Role comes with a specialty related to this life.

Fursona-Your form has changed into some anthropomorphic animal. You get to represent your fantastical form's abilities with powers. Anything else can be added as any category of superpower in another powerset

Free Powerset w/sfx and d8 power included (Represent traits of Fursona) Spend 12 points 1pt each -add 1 power at d8 -add 2 powers at d6 -add 1 sfx to powerset -step d8 power to d10 2pts each -add powerset [classic superpowers, mystical, or gear based abilities] w/1 sfx and d8 power. Limits -step power d10 to d12

Values: add your Highlights then add 5 steps

Community -

Compassion -

Duty -

Friendship -

Justice -

Truth -

Relationships: you didn't come here alone, well you may have, but there are at least 2 and probably 3-4 others you already know. One or two may have come with you, came to meet you, or otherwise. Another you're friendly with also just happens to be here, a crush, former classmate, or cousin. Lastly is someone you have a negative relationship with, bitter professional rival, jealous ex, whatever. Remember that die size here doesn't reflect hate < love rather intensity of your feelings about and more importantly how impactful working with, for, or against a particular Furson. Your choice, all 4 at d6, or 2 at d6 with rival at d8 or incidental ally and rival both at d8. Write a quick statement reflecting relationship for each.

Rules of the Dreamshoppe[edit]

(Cortex Mods and thoughts)[edit]

Some specific mods not yet mentioned via character creation are Hero Dice and Resources. In Fursona Dreamshoppe we will be using the Hero Dice as Plot Points option where you do not need to spend a plot point to use a Hero Die (though you may only commit a single die to a given roll) and you can use any HD available as plot points should you wish to. Another advantage our PC heroes will have is Luck, each in game day when you arrive at your first event your pool of 2 d6s of Luck will refresh.
Due to the nature of PbP I would like to offer Test Created Assets as having a static difficulty of 7 (8 if you have an applicable d6 complication or stress and increase by 1 for higher die types, d8=9 d10=10 d12=11, if you're suffering from more than one die I will roll for difficulty). This will allow you to determine success and describe the action. I will purchase any rolled hitches, I am happy to have you narrate any complications or stress you receive that makes sense.
We will use the stress set of Afraid, Angry, Exhausted, Injured, and Insecure. I find it's easy to consider how your PC might feel about a situation to know how they suffer on a failed roll.
Many rolls will be conflicts of PC vs GMC and possibly PC vs PC and in these situations the first to act sets the difficulty with their roll. The 2nd may give in (and receive a plot point for doing so) or assemble their own pool along with their counterargument, if they roll higher than the initial roll then we return to the first to choose to continue or give in.
In situations and events where I can roll difficulty in advance I will do so. In a fluid situation like a combat where I set a difficulty for a monster, simply use the most recently rolled difficulty for the next PC in turn.
