welcome traveler !
The purpose of this written work is to create a fantasy world called "Khem" which can be used with either conventional "paper and dice" or adapted for "computer" type play. Mundus Khem shall be a sprawling Fantasy world created using the following mechanics:
- based on the SRD 20dsystem to give the well known D&D flavor.
- Medieval history for social and technological development
- Classical Latin is the common tongue in Khem so please use accordingly when naming:
- artifacts
- alchemical components
- technological devices
- geographical locations
Anyone wanting to contribute to Mundus Khem please keep these design principles in mind so continuity is not broken.
What is the meaning of Mundus Khem ?
first, please consider the following definitions..
- Mundus - a Latin word that can mean world or universe
- Khem - an ancient Egyptian word from which the medieval word "Alchemy" is derived (which also lead to modern chemistry). Therefore, terrestrial humans would call Mundus Khem , "The World of Peculiar Alchemy"
Where is Khem located ?
Khem is a fictional parallel world . Since Khem evolved in parallel to Terra, it has many similarities that are closely related to historical terrestrial middle ages.
