Background:
Plot Hooks:
- There are any number of Nefas who would love to put a feather in their cap by taking out Jonathan Cross. Some are even willing to settle for taking out his daughter! Fame is not always something to be desired in this profession.
- While she can field-strip firearms from every major manufacturer in the world, and most of the custom models used by Cadre operatives while blindfolded, her background doesn't involve a lot of normal social interactions.
- There are quiet but persistent rumors that the Cross family tree might have some inhuman genes mixed in there somewhere.
- Contrary to genre norms, both Slava's parents are alive and well. They have retired to a lovely little survival bunker complex out in the middle of nowhere.
