Each race is connected to one of the eight Stars, and can utilize the magic associated with that Star. ex: Dragons are associated with the Red star, and can use magic regarding fire.

Dragons

Red, the Star of the Sun

Appearence

Red-haired with horns, wings, and tail. Able to transform into a gigantic, winged, scaled reptilian being when Red Star magic was strong enough.

None

Culture

Dragons are hatched in humanoid form. They can achieve their true form with enough experience.

Gnolls

Appearence

Beastial folk with orange fur, claws, fangs, and tails. They came in a variety of shapes and sizes, but were all strong and tough.

Culture

They clearly used less metal and were apparently nomad herders, and had large numbers of animals with them.

Hotaro

Associated Star

Yellow, the Star of Lights

Appearence

Fairies about nine inches tall with insect wings and glowing with golden light. Invariably golden-haired.

Current Leader

Tinatel

Culture

They seemed to lack any organized society and to likewise not need it.

Elves

Associated Star

Green, the Star of Plants

Appearence

With pointed ears, green hair and eyes.

Current Leader

Princess Shalara

Culture

The Elves are a sizable group, and appeared to be a collection of farmers and warriors.

Serafin

Blue-haired and with angelic wings, they appeared to be part of a religious community, and had warriors and clergy of some kind with them. Many were healers of some kind, although it appeared that their leader, Mother Zephriel, who was the strongest healer that they had, was herself critically injured, and unlikely to live for too much longer. A knight named Azragel was in charge of their warriors.

Sirens

According to Arale: "...not that many survived when the seas were turned to poison, though, and our numbers were always few after the tragedy of a century ago. Perhaps a dozen remain."

According to Arale: "We Sirens, at least, are lucky in that we don't need a male to be the father-- you can tell that by my hair, after all-- but that's probably why we all look almost exactly alike.

all women, with an astonishing resemblance to one another. Their hair was normally indigo, but there was a high percentage of other colors among their number. They were all lightly dressed, and a bit clumsy. They looked to Arale as their leader.

Goblins

Shorter than the others, with violet hair and pale skin, they possessed exquisite metalwork and mining tools, as well as some crossbows and minor bits of clockwork. Apparently one named Raksas Rakuliar was responsible for the construction of the crossbows, but another, a woman named Chiel Chartagnan, was someone of considerable importance.

Sorcerors

According to Azyria: "We have horns, yes," said Azyria. "Unlike the horns of Dragons or some Gnolls, they are, in no small part, sensory organs-- we use them to feel Souls around us. We guide the energies through our bodies, and extend them by imagining our bodies extending outwards. Unfortunately, while Black Star energies are very powerful and versatile, we pay a price for using them-- we use our own life energy to power the spells. Luckily, there is a way to restore that energy-- we take it from others."

Black hair and eyes, with pale skin, Sorcerors resemble humans closely, except for the horns on their head. These horns somehow enable them to sense life force, and it is an important part of their culture that using the Black Star drains the user's life force... but it can steal that energy from others to let the Sorceror heal.
