Daichi
Background
Daichi is a teenage Japanese-American boy. He's attending Claymore High because, basically, he wouldn't fit in anywhere else. While he's essentially a good kid, he's got an attitude and a real problem with authority. He kept getting into fights and trouncing people, so the school is really the best place for him. Pretty much the only person he defers to is his grandfather, for the simple reason that he could, and would, kill him if he didn't!
His grandfather and sensei (who still lives in Japan - mostly) was a notorious martial artist who, 30 years ago, came very close to dominating the martial arts world before being defeated. Because he's the inheritor of such a notorious lineage a lot of people have it in for him (and they call themselves good guys, huh!) particularly the school descended from his great-uncle, whom his grandfather killed.
Daichi is slightly shorter than average, with a wiry build, and his kung-fu focuses on fast, well-timed strikes. He's got dyed blue hair and usually wears black cargo pants and a charcoal grey hoodie with the the symbol 天 (heaven) spray-painted on the back.
