Introduction

The Moon's Reflection is an AD&D 2nd Edition/Skills & Powers** Play-By-Post game set in the World of Greyhawk in the year 573 CY. The game begins in Chendl, the capital of Furyondy. As of this writing (11/10/2010), I haven't posted the recruitment thread yet. You're welcome to submit a character proposal or ask questions via PM before the recruitment thread is posted, if you like.

The party members may be connected in some manner to Galen Verlaine, a noted wizard who retired from service to King Belvor three years ago. Until recently, he has lived in seclusion near the small fishing village of Morsten, across the Veng River from the Horned Society. Verlaine went missing a month ago, and his niece, Sylvie, is going to Morsten to investigate.

Possible connections for player characters include: former teacher, former employer, family member (uncle, cousin, or more distant), or friend of the family. It's possible the character has no direct connection to Verlaine but knows Sylvie, his niece, who's gathering a group to accompany her. One further possibility is that the character is going to the village for other reasons and travels with the party in the same caravan.

The group will travel together across Furyondy to Morsten in a group of wagons and carriages. The bulk of the adventure takes place in and around the village and will conclude back in Chendl. When the group arrives at the village, they'll have more on their hands than finding a missing wizard. It'll be up to the party to discover why this formerly peaceful village has become a place of suspicion and fear, where whole families pack up and leave overnight, never to be seen again. Some say that agents of the Horned Society -- or even the dreaded Iuz -- are corrupting the village for their own foul purposes, but nobody knows for sure.

The game is based on a published module of appropriate difficulty for a party of first-level of adventurers. The descriptions, maps, and storyline have been modified from the original, but the encounters have been left at the same power level, since they were professionally play-tested years ago.

I'd like recruiting and character creation to be completed before the end of November if at all possible. When we have at least 4 PCs confirmed, we'll set a date for posting to begin.

** Please note: Players are not required to own the Skills & Powers rulebook. The DM will assist in character creation.
