History[edit]

The Tomb Brothers are old, and Lord Jibrael is old. He has been interred in Dreadnought armour for five millenia. He remembers Sebastian Thor and the Reign of Blood. He speaks of the foundation of the Calixis Sector as a recent event, for he was involved in the conquest of the area. He knew Solomon Haarlock, and sometimes forgets that he's dead and buried.

The Tomb Brothers have sent their Fifth and Second companies to the Crusade, but the Fifth, understrength after certain events in the Koronus Expanse, have been chosen as advisors, bodyguards, and mentors. Lord Jibrael goes where he is needed, his ancient wisdom and memories of wars long past making him a superb tactical asset.

Aside from his fifty-odd warriors (and two additional support dreadnoughts), Lord Jibrael is accompanied by a small group of Tech-Adepts and Paige-Scouts, who keep his complex systems operating and steer his ancient mind along relevant paths.

Lord Jibrael bears an ancient twin-linked Reaper autocannon, a weapon forged before the Great Crusade and the dawn of the Imperium. It is a true relic, blessed by the Emperor itself (or so it is said). Daemon and Heretic fear its wrath in particular, for its blessed shells are said to rend their souls and bodies alike.

He also bears, in his other, articulated hand, a chain-kopesh of great size and power, which could cleave half a dozen foes apart in a single swing. His ancient stormbolter, carried when he was a veteran of the First Company, is also quite fearsome, and he sometimes prefers it to the overbearing roar of the Reaper.

His chassis is inscribed with his deeds and heroic feats in closely written archaic High Gothic. In some places, the deeds are written in language so obscure that no man now living can read them accurately. He bears no ornament, no purity seal, and no banner. His helm, before battle, is daubed in ash. He is fond of regicide, and of a finely crafted elgy.
