The Hopewell Foundation is looking for a highly creative and open-minded candidate with strong interpersonal and leadership skills and a commitment to public welfare to serve as its Director of Survivor Advocacy and Support. The Director is responsible for administering the Foundation's health and financial services to a group of nearly 300 Survivors, overseeing the Foundation's in-house support staff and speaking on the Survivors' behalf with both state and federal governments. The position requires a Masters Degree in public policy, social science or business and at least five years of professional experience and two years of management experience, preferably in a community-focused public purpose enterprise. The Director of Survivor Advocacy and Support is responsible for a dual portfolio.  First, she administers the Foundation's health and financial services to willing Survivors and oversees the Foundation's in- and out-of-house support staff.  She coordinates with the Foundation's insurance carrier and the Director of Finance to pay the balance on client premiums and ensures that all claims are promptly (and properly) filed and followed up on.  She maintains contact with the medical team at Genzyme to ensure that as many of the Foundation's Survivor clients as possible receive regular medical exams and oversees the operations of the Foundation's staff psychologist.  She also coordinates with the office of the Senior Counsel to provide legal advice to Survivor clients in need. 
 
Second, she speaks on the Survivors' behalf to governments at all levels. She lobbies, in conjunction with other rights organizations, against laws prejudicial towards innocent Survivors.  This includes maintaining contact with lawmakers and providing them with information on the Survivors, making pamphlets and fact sheets available to the public and arranging for her own or other expert testimony before relevant committees.
