Personality

Duncan is a restless and insatiable explorer: of other points of view, strange places, and his own capabilities. He's not really happy unless he's striking up a conversation with a stranger on the subway, discovering a weird little coffee shop in an out-of-the-way part of town, or beating his last speed trials in the gym. If it's new, he's interested, and if it's risky, so much the better.
Unfortunately, Duncan almost entirely lacks an understanding of the concept of danger (at least as it applies to him.) He's neither suicidal nor careless; he just has a hard time realizing when he's pushed his luck too far. His self-confidence borders on narcissm at times - after all, what sensible universe would let someone as talented as him fail?
While this attitude can be off-putting to some, his easy charm and genuine enthusiasm for life cause many people to share Duncan's high opinion of himself.

Part Time Jobs or Internships

Duncan has a part-time internship in the marketing department of Eastern Seaboard Bank as part of his business major. He's not handling the boring, buttoned-down environment particularly well, and he frequently finds excuses to be late or simply not there. The only things saving him from being fired are his personal charm and his co-workers' general lack of interest in the existence of interns.

School Funding

Duncan's schooling is funded by his mother, a millionaire business executive. She has made it clear that once he graduates, a comfortable vice-presidency is waiting for him in one of her company's 37 international offices. She has made it equally clear that if he drops out or fails to graduate on time, the gravy train runs dry immediately.

Relationship

Duncan's relationships are many and shallow. His good looks and outgoing personality ensure he's never short of female attention, but he's got a bad habit of dropping girlfriends after they've exhausted their "novelty factor". He's not callous, but he subconsciously assumes that they're getting bored with him as well.

Where you like to hang out when not in class or at work

Duncan religiously mantains his workout-and-training schedule. The rest of his free time is spent loosely roaming around the city, either with friends or alone. He prefers coffeehouses and open-air markets to bars and clubs. He's not much of a drinker, although he has a fake ID for occasions when a band he really wants to see is playing a 21+ venue.

Physical Appearance

Duncan is wiry and muscular, with short-cropped spiky black hair. He tends to dress casually (jeans and T-shirt), although he's comfortable in a suit if the need arises. His costume is a form-fitting jumpsuit resembling motorcycle racing leathers, with a stylized yo-yo emblem on the chest. He wears a small domino-style mask.

Heroic Motivations

Duncan is a thrillseeker. He enjoys knowing that his actions have helped people, but he enjoys swinging around on buildings and getting into fights even more. He's comfortable with publicity and has only bothered to loosely disguise his identity. Still, he is fully aware that human lives are more important than adrenalin highs and media attention.

Allegiance

Duncan has no particularly strong allegiances at this time, although he would be strongly loyal to any group of heroes who prove they can be trusted.

History & Heroic Origin

The son of a jet-setting executive and a respected archaeologist, Duncan saw each of the seven continents before his seventh birthday. While not technically divorced, the natures of their professions often left his parents thousands of miles away from each other, and Duncan spent much of his early childhood in transit.
During a year-long dig on a tiny island in the Indonesian archipelago, eight-year-old Duncan befriended several warriors from the island's indigenous Gulang-gulang tribe. They taught him to wield their versatile and deadly signature weapon: a heavy stone disc on a length of hide string. They called it a "Pelang-jat", but Duncan has always referred to it by its common name: the yo-yo. Over the next ten years, Duncan blended his Pelang-jat training with techniques from half a dozen different martial arts, learned from instructors in a dozen different countries.
When he turned eighteen, Duncan's parents decided that he was going to begin receiving a formal education, and enrolled him at FCU. His mother has pushed him towards a corporate career, while his father has made little secret of his desire to see Duncan take up archaeology.
After a few years in Freedom City, Duncan has decided that costumed heroics sound like a pretty neat idea...

Battle Tactics

Duncan is a fast and agile fighter who prefers to enter combat with the advantage of surprise. Typically, he accomplishes this with smoke and flash yo-yos. He enjoys flaunting his skill over a group of lesser, untrained adversaries, and will take the opportunity to demonstrate his flashiest (and riskiest) attacks and maneuvers.
Against powerful or numerically overwhelming enemies, his vanity takes a back seat to survival. In these situations, he will employ more conventional hit and run techniques that leave him minimally exposed to return strikes. In the rare event that he realizes a fight has become unwinnable, he will drop the aforementioned smoke or flash yo-yo to cover his retreat.
Duncan's weapons are inherently non-lethal, and he will go to considerable lengths to avoid killing an antagonist.
