The Grand and High Powers were something of a cross between Basic D&D set Immortals, Gloranthan God Learners and Melnibonean style sorcerors. Basically, they took over the world, usurped the gods, tried to usurp the runes then reached out to usurp Infinity. They blew it and were wiped from Creation, but only after a countless Age of indulging their own whims and fascinations.
