Matik[edit]
Matik is a rather unassuming army archer who just happened to survive a few notable battles and escape flogging from his superiors. Because of his perilous experiences, he treats every day like it might be his last. He has gained a profound appreciation for life (at least, for his own and for people who he likes) due to his harsh service in a campaign against the northern barbarians. Too many good people died while the worst just kept on living.
Generally Matik is likable but can be a little too blunt with his honesty. Some people like that about him, while others have given him a few memorable scars.
He is very devoted and loyal to people that he likes (although if they pay him well that just sweetens the deal).
