Time is a river.

It branches, twists and flows in a myriad of different directions. Down one path, The Old World ends in fire, a new yawning portal to madness and the laughter of the dark gods. The foretold and prophesied doom of all things. What the followers of the Chaos gods have always insisted would happen in the end. Yet, not even the Chaos can truly claim dominion over the slings and arrows of fate, though they may certainly try. But this branch, in the river has opted to take a different path....

Cast one's gaze towards Middenhiem, the famed City of the White Wolf. On the battlements, Archaon, Lord of the End Times, clashes with the chosen of Sigamar. It is the Storm of Chaos and the world hangs in the balance. The mortal realms are pitched to fall into the flames. But before the final blow can be struck, a hulking green brute attacks like a furious lightning bolt. His axe falls with a unworldly fury. Archaon's head is severed from his body. The Lord of the End Times falls. Grimgor Ironhide bellows his roar of victory. Everything changes.

Fifteen years on from the death of the Everchosen and the world has entered a new age. Norsca has fallen from grip of the dark gods, the northern tribes- the Graelings, Vargs and Aeslings- are no more. The prayers to their Chaos masters fell on deaf ears as they were slaughtered and hauled away en masse by traitorous Skaven. The beastmen tribes in the Empire's forests are thinned, having bled themselves almost dry fighting the Empire and the Forest Goblin tribes. For the first time in a very long while, the power of Chaos wanes.

With relative peace coming to the lands they used to attack a new age of exploration and commerce come to the southern realms. Ships and caravans have spread out into the world, searching for new places to trade at, and digging for wonders of lost ages. Marienburg is at the forefront, but they are hardly alone. The Empire, Bretonnia, Tilea, Estalia have gotten involved as well. Even the far flung realms of Araby, Cathay, Nippon, and Ind are casting their gazes beyond their historical borders.

With so many nations competing for the riches of the world, the trading companies will take any bodies they can find, offering a share of the booty for service. The chance for the average man or woman to earn a fortune is higher than ever before and fortune seekers stream towards the port cities of the Old World.

It is a brave new world.

Custom Rules

Character's are made using the Career Compendium. While most of the major books are in play, Tome of Corruption is mostly out of bounds due to the current waning of Chaos' power. Norscan characters are allowed, but only after conversation with the GM (me! :P). Fan made works on playing characters from Teila and Ogres are also allowed. And, finally, if someone wishes to play a character from Cathy, Inj, Arabay, or other esoteric Warhammer Fantasy nations, they are allowed after a conversation with the GM.

Focus of the campaign will be going to the more exotic ends of the world, to seek fame and fortune, and deal with the stranger bits of the Warhammer Fantasy setting. Expect to see things from the setting that haven't been used in a long time in play. Things are going to get strange here!
