Dorothy's parents brought her to America as a toddler, with hopes of her someday going to Harvard, Yale or a similar Ivy League school. They worked hard to give their only daughter the best tutors they could find so that could have every possible advantage for success. Dorothy's parents brought her to America as a toddler, with hopes of her someday going to Harvard, Yale or a similar Ivy League school. They worked hard to give their only daughter the best tutors they could find so that could have every possible advantage for success. Academically, they would accept no compromises, and considered anything less than an A grade to be a failure.
School, tutoring, martial arts... Dorothy had little time to relax and enjoy her childhood, but she did her best to meet her parents' lofty expectations. She was top of her class from elementary all the way through to high school, where she was honored as the class valedictorian during graduation.
In the end, though, it seems none of it mattered, as Dorothy received an endless stream of rejection letters from top schools across the country. Ultimately, she landed herself at East Texas University, much to the extreme disappointment of her parents. This hasn't caused them to let up, however, as the new goal is for their daughter to get into a prestigious graduate school.
