This game will be broken up into Jobs with each job being a series of scenes that roughly map to an arc of (usually) five acts. Each job the crew completes earns each character two (2) experience. Experience can be spent to advance characters as follows:
- Turn an Asset from an Episode into a
Signature Asset: 1 Experience
- Switch out Ambition or Quirk Distinction for a new Ambition or Quirk Distinction: 1 Experience If the distinction had active SFX, activate new SFX appropriate to the new Distinction.
- Add a new
Knack to a
or higher Role: 1 Experience Knacks cannot be added to your
Role.
- Add a Signature Asset SFX: 1 Experience
Assets may have a max of one (1) SFX.
Asses may have a max of two (2)
- Step up a
Signature Asset to a
: 2 Experience
- Unlock a new Distinction SFX: 2 Experience Distinctions may have no more than three (3) SFX (this includes Hinder)
- Step up a Role to
or higher: 3 Experience No Role may be stepped up beyond

Role may not be advanced.
- Step up one Attribute and step back another: 3 Experience No Attribute may be stepped up beyond
or stepped back below
- Players may also donate experience to buff their ship (See Ship Advancement)
