- Lieutenant Elsa 'Ice Queen' Friedeberg: A member of the German KSK, Elsa is the commanding officer of Shatter Squad, the other Sword team present at Area 51. She's professional and focused.
American Military
- General Eric Smith: Brigadier General Eric Smith was the commanding officer of Area 51; a classified American military base and aerospace test facility; prior to half the facility and its air fields being allocated for the use of X-COM. He remains the commander of the American contingent on base, and the classified labs. Needless to say, he has a strong dislike of X-COM taking over half his base, and enforces the division harshly.
