Fae Magic
Fae are inherently magical beings, masters of Glamour (Illusion) and Enchantments with some small skill in performing divinations and lesser conjurations. Some Fae are rumored to be able to magically heal wounds in mortals.
Mortal Magic
Not being inherently magical, mortals must learn to tap into forces the Fae touch as easy as breathing. Until they learn to master the simplest forms, mortal arcanists are vulnerable to detection and ensnarement by the Fae.
The lowest mortals with an affinity for magic - apprentices - quickly master lesser divination and conjuration and may even show talent with evocation. As journeymen, they begin to learn abjuration and greater divination, but at a cost. Only true masters can dispense with the cost of these magics, and only masters can summon beings (by their true name) and transmute matter.
Unlike students of the Guild, Warders tend to master magics more erratically.
