Dragon naming conventions
Dragons traditionally have three birth/hatching names, although most will eventually develop a collection of titles and appellations that can, in the case of truly ancient wyrms, fill an entire book. The three birth names traditionally are: first, the name of their Broodmother, second, the name of their Clutch, and third, their hatchling name, which is usually a diminutive or nickname. Most adult dragons will eventually abandon their hatchling name in favor of a title or other name they choose. The name of their Broodmother is usually omitted except in extremely formal occasions.
Dragon clutches are usually laid at once, but dragon eggs mature slowly and the hatchings of a single clutch may be separated by years/decades. Dragons within a clutch will usually consider themselves siblings/family, but will not necessarily consider themselves to be family or relations with other clutches, even if they share the same Broodmother.
Clutch names are gendered; members of the Scaevius clutch can be Scaevian (m), Scaevia (f), or Scaevius (n).
