A half-ogre fighter wary of the world of men but a loyal companion to those he can trust.

Og's Character Sheet

Background

Og is the product of an unwilling union between an ogre father and his human mother, who died during childbirth. Cast out by the superstitious ogres and left to die, he was found by a travelling caravan of merchants. One recognized him for what he was, and adopted him - primarily to raise him to be a bodyguard and servant.

His life among the merchants was not easy, and he was kept apart from most of the troupe who mocked ad bullied him when he was young, but who grew to fear him as he grew strong. His adopted "father" used this fear to take control of the caravan group, and Og became the lead guard for the caravan and personal guard for his father for many years.

The his merchant father fell on hard times; Og was sold into the gladiatorial pits for a tidy sum, and he never saw his "father" again.

Og learned fighting skills the hard way in the arena, but over time grew to be a celebrated fighter that drew great crowds. He eventually won enough money for his owner that he was able to buy his freedom, and he left the city to find his way.

Characteristics & Personality

Og is neither good nor evil in his outlook. He is pragmatic to a fault - his actions typically are derived from what he understands to be needed. He does not make oaths or promises lightly, but once made he abides by them. Much like a genie's wishes, his fulfilment may leave something to be desired by the other party - not due to malice or scheming on his part, but by his dull-witted, direct approach to problems.

Due to his large size, Og must usually remove his armor & equipment to allow even the largest horses to bear him, with another pack animal needed to carry his equipment; or be carried in a wagon. He is loathe to travel unarmored, and prefers to walk or take wagons wherever possible.

Description

Og is over seven and a half feet tall, and weighs approximately 375 lbs without clothing and armor. His skin is mottled grey with a greenish tinge on the back, shoulders, forearms, thighs, and feet. It is covered with hideous scars from his years in the gladiatorial area. His face is flat and his features broad, small eyes with reddish-pink pupils, yellow-orange teeth complete with oversized lower canines that protrude when his mouth is closed. He wears his unkempt dirty grey and black hair long, below his shoulders, sporting several war-braids fastened with iron or bronze luck beads from a shaman, and a scraggly, wiry beard on his cheeks and chin. Og typically wears the heaviest armor he can afford, and his preferred weapons are huge, two-handed varieties of sword, axe, or morning star. He will also use a huge black-iron spear, primarily as a missile weapon.
