Background

Fernando – Nando, for short – is a grandnephew of Isolde’s through her kid brother, Corwin. He had a burning wanderlust and traveled the world, before settling in Brazil, where everybody called him “Inglês” [English]. He squandered his fortune there and have make do with a regular job at a recording label, where he did illustrations and stuff. He married and had Laura.

Laura eventually married as well, but to a man who had no intention of sticking around. He left soon after Nando was born, and Laura had to raise him with only Corwin’s help (her mother had died when she was little).

Nando inherited Corwin’s artistic talent, but also his lack of business acumen. His grandfather would always tell him stories of his trips and of his family, especially his mysterious, eccentric elder sister, Isolde.

Nando lost his grandfather when he was nine and was raised solo by Laura. He went into fine arts but never landed a regular job, always surviving on freelance gigs.

About a month ago, Laura passed away, leaving Nando adrift in the world and with a ton of bills, like the one for her burial. Then, the letter arrived, about an inheritance in his father’s country...
