Mental Malfunction Where to begin? Marc Spector became Moon Knight when he was left for dead in the desert by his former employer. He attributed his survival to the Egyptian God Khonshu, dawned a cloak, and began a career as a vigilante, with not one, but THREE secret identities that had their own personalities. He believes he is the avatar of the Egyptian god of vengeance and crime-fighting helps him to feel better about all the people he killed when he was a mercenary. Today, Moon Knight has only one secret identity, but several anger and guilt issues, after having been forced to kill his former sidekick Midnight. Sometimes, he takes on the personality of one of his former secret identities. He still hears the voice of Khonshu guiding him and telling him what to do, most other Heroes attribute this to some form of schizophrenia, rather than true divine intervention. Moon Knight acts out of a sense of justice rather than upholding the law, and this has led him to team up even with the Punisher in the past.
