Probabily has its root in the TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", White Ears refer to the supporters of the Lovewitches who are not first-line operatives, either from lack of experience or wasn't being trained for combat.

The daughter of the lengendary Mina Lovewitch, Stardust is a girl genius with tremendous arcane power but zero control over it. Despite being able to perform great feats of magic that rival her mother, Stardust's spells go dangerously wrong 50% of the time.

The Council of Lovewitch is the group of mages and, in some instances, scientists, who protect the Love Island from outside world and act as the governing body of the island. They are also in charge of training Lovewitches.
