The Ithaca Priam double planetary systems is of the few terraformed worlds not set to EtW standard 24 hours days, 4 seasons and 365 day years. Because of the unique orbital paths the system was deemed to unstable for adjustment. Instead the terraformers created a system of tidal locked planets, with a mutual orbit (around the center of gravity) that permits them to experience a unique set of six seasons, and 84 hour days. Specially developed arctic plants were brought in to harvest the unusual light, and work schedules were adjusted to allow unusual schedules.

Ithaca sports fair robust forested surface. The developments were made to store light and preserve natural lighting where possible. At the same time, the cities were developed to encourage night light during the long nights. Ithaca is known for its bio-engineering, in particular resins, and self designing textiles and materials, although high tech, most of the human labor is relegated to gathering the raw materials, cleaning the waste products and dealing with the hazardous washes used to produce the materials and eliminate the byproducts.
Priam is mineral rich with a unique subduction system that creates considerable geological action along certain fault lines. It is dangerous business mining the faultlines, but far faster and more productive than digging. From Lava skimmers, to stone barges, the planet of Priam is a unique place. Despite the unusual geology, Priam still has millions of people. Most of them live with spitting distance of the faults, but a few have pushed into the rich loam hoping to supply cheaper foods to the locals than food brought in for offworld.
